The COUGAR 36"
wide format color scanners incorporate the latest in imaging technology
for high quality full color scanning and copying. The 36" imaging
area handles large color posters, architectural sketches, detailed maps,
drawings and fine art. This scanner offers a cost-effective solution for
reprographics, graphic arts, GIS and CAD professionals worldwide. The
COUGAR 36" opens new possibilities for Sign companies, Pre press
shops, Pre-press labs, Copy shops, POP/Exhibit/Display providers, Mapping,
Architect and Engineer offices.

Superiority
Color is captured at 36 bits for maximum color precision, passing the best
24 bits of color data to the computer to enhance color fidelity. The
COUGAR uses all digtital camera technology with advanced point-of-orgin
color capture ensuring low noise. Quality color flourescent lamps ensure
the market's highest standards for color correctness.
Care
for your original
The COUGAR protects your document and scanning results with the ALL
Wheel Drive document path system. Precision soft-friction rollers and
contour adjustment ensure a straight scan path without applying
unnecessary force so you avoid distortion and damage to your originals.

Enhancement Power
With Dual 2D-Adaptive enhancement processing is performed
simultaneously and in real-time on individual aspects of the original.
Enhancement includes ADL+ error diffusion halftoning, 2D-Adaptive
foreground thresholding, 2D-Adaptive background suppression and 2D-Auto
edge enhancement. Equipped with this image enhancement power you can
always produce clean, crisp scans even from poor quality drawings.
Precision
color
Contex color scanners are the markets only wide format scanners that can
be user-calibrated to output color in accordance with international color
standards (NTSC, sRGB color spaces). The unique Precision Color System
lets you calibrate in the field at any time ensuring stabile and
predictable color output.

Scanner Maintenance
The COUGAR scanner is designed to let you concentrate on your work and
take optimal scanner performance for granted.
The scanner
incorporates the 3C Auto-Maintenance system that keeps your cameras
perfectly aligned, adjusted and calibrated for optimal image quality.
Once the scanner has been fine-tuned, it performs a number of basic tasks
on its own, removing those tedious chores required with other scanner
systems. Using patented Contex technology, camera stitching and
black-white-points are constantly monitored and corrected while your
scanner is running.
One
Touch Scanning
The scanner's operator's panel is designed with convenient
programmable action buttons for initiating frequent tasks directly from
the scanner. Each button immediately activates a scan and opens the image
in an appropriate application and format. The scanner comes with buttons
for scanning, copying and e-mailing loaded originals.
Advanced
Power Management
Running the right internal temperature is of utmost importance with
high quality scanning. The scanner's advanced Power Management rapidly
brings the scanner to its optimal working temperature after which the
temperature is monitored for lowest CCD noise. The system also lets you
program the scanner to power-up automatically in the early morning hours
so that it stands ready to scan when you arrive at the office.
